JustGiving Becomes the First Major Online Giving Platform to Sign Up to the Fundraising Regulator Code

The company hopes that this commitment, in partnership with the wider third sector, will strengthen public trust in charities.

JustGiving, the world’s leading online giving platform, today announces it has completed its registration with the Fundraising Regulator and is now a full signatory to the Fundraising Code of Conduct.

This move comes after months of close work with the Regulator to ensure that JustGiving provides the clearest information possible to fundraisers and donors of their rights and responsibilities, as well as what they can expect from JustGiving in terms of service, costs and security.

Commenting on JustGiving’s commitment to leading the sector in online fundraising standards, Keith Williams, General Manager of JustGiving in the UK and Ireland, said: “JustGiving sees our continued and close partnership with the Fundraising Regulator as a fundamental way to begin to strengthen public trust in the charity sector, that we all know provides so much good in the world. JustGiving’s commitment to upholding the Code of Conduct will be coupled with a continuing consultation process, which will provide a renewed focus on listening and reacting to the needs of the platform’s charities—strengthening an already strong and enduring partnership of more than 18 years.

The Code was created to ensure that the public can have trust in our sector—and with online donations continuing to grow, it is more important than ever that platforms like JustGiving commit to upholding that code.
