Story

The main goal of Bright Ideas for Tennis is to encourage more people to play more tennis. Our fantastic sport has been medically proven to not only improve ones physical health, but also to aid and maintain ones mental well-being too.

Over the past 6 years, we pride ourselves on knowing that we have personally coached approximately 8000 players, have raised in excess of £600,000, and have provided a further 5000 hours of free community coaching schemes as a result.

Our fundraising events have helped clubs to floodlight existing courts, resurface tired surfaces, and provide disability access / equipment where needed.

Our next fundraising event will be our 7th 24hr Tennis Marathon. Former GB tennis Pro's Alex Slabinsky and Richard Whichello will both be playing for 24hr at the National Tennis Centre, Roehampton on the 22/23 February 2020. They will be partnered throughout the event by a selection of former Davis / Fed Cup players and the opposition will be provide by 12 venues from across the UK, each venue raising funds for a specific capital project.

About the charity

Our primary goal is to support tennis clubs in the UK by increasing membership numbers, raising participation levels and improving playing facilities. We encourage venues to expand their existing coaching sessions, creating an all-inclusive programme for their community.
