Story
Networks of Wellbeing has been supporting community mental health and wellbeing for 25 years. Your support and belief in the work we do will help our dedicated team to continue to support others.
We have set our '25 Years of Belief' fund-raising target at £25,000 to mark the 25 years we have been offering support in the NHS Grampian area in Northeast Scotland.
We know that 1 in 3 people in Scotland are affected by poor mental health, and the other 2 in 3 are connected to someone with poor mental health. We also know from experience that people can, and do, recover from even the most serious mental health difficulties. We hold that belief for everyone we work with, even when they may not believe it for themselves.
All too often people do not ask for support until things become too difficult to manage - and for some this can be too late. We have heard again and again that the hardest step to take when seeking mental health support, is the first step through the door, to ask for support. You will see in our video what can and does happen when people take this step.
Our campaign video shows how alone and isolated people can feel when things become too hard to bear. We know that it is easy to see a broken arm, whilst a mental health need is invisible. We see what wonderful things can and do happen when we begin to look at ways to wellbeing, the connections we make, and the hope that this can bring.
We believe that in working together as a caring and compassionate community we can reduce stigma, improve our mental health and wellbeing, and make it easier for each of us to ask for support. Your donations will help us to achieve this.
