We are asking our members to help us fundraise towards our operational costs to keep Auckland Down Syndrome Association running in 2021.
Story
Everyone wants to feel a sense of connection. To feel that they fit in, to feel safe, valued, have great friends, and to feel loved. People with Down Syndrome are no different.
For many parents receiving the diagnosis that their child has Down syndrome is a time of great uncertainty - and many worry about what the future will hold for their child, and their family on this unexpected path.
Auckland Down Syndrome Association are here to provide support and guidance along this wonderful (but sometimes turbulent!) journey and to provide great connection points for families at any stage of life.
We provide visits to new parents in hospital and coffee groups for carers of littlies, primary school age playdates, education courses for schools, and social clubs for our teenagers and adults. We have an extensive resource library which helps parents and schools with information specific Down syndrome. Our families greatly value the sense of community, and knowing that they are not alone.
ADSA has 500 members, and we want to continue to reach as many families as possible in 2021. Our fundraising goes to support operational costs and towards wages of our part time (and very hard working) staff members.
