Omagh Friends of Marie Curie was formed over 20 years ago and some of the original members are still involved. The group meet monthly in Charlies Bar in Campsie, Omagh to plan their activities. The group cover the wide rural area, including outlying rural towns Gortin, Omagh, Dromore, Fintona, Beragh Seskinore, Trillick and Castlederg. They are grateful for the annual support they receive from local businesses, young farmers groups and schools. They host collection days and manage a network of collection tins in the area, as well as supporting other events, our partnership with Spar stores and attending cheque presentations to thank local supporters. They also host their own successful events including quizzes, a Ladies Lunch and a Vintage Vehicle Specular.
Since 2011, Marie Curie has set up Fundraising Groups across the UK to help raise money and awareness for the charity in their local area. They are a vital part of the Marie Curie family, raising a fantastic amount each year to help ensure we can keep supporting people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones. This is through our wide range of services including hospices, nursing, Information and Support services and research.
