As the cost-of-living crisis worsens for us all, the nations pets are finding themselves in need of the support offered by animal rescue charities more than ever before. At a time when outgoings on everything from heating and lighting the animal accommodation to veterinary fees continue to rise, the National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) Clacton is aiming to raise funds to provide care to the rising influx of animal victims of the current predicament.
Recently, more and more owners are being forced to give up their pets due to financial problems as they simply cannot afford to give them the care they require or are being forced to move home themselves. Alongside other UK rescues, the NAWT Clacton has seen an increase in animals needing help, and at a time when our budget is already stretched there has also been an influx of dogs in the stray pounds desperately needing our help.
The funds we receive from this campaign will empower our rescuing and rehoming efforts, meaning that you can help to offer more dogs like Pickle a lifeline when they need it the most. Before being rescued by the NAWT, young Pickle found herself as an unclaimed stray in a pound alongside her best friend Lily. Whilst it is unknown exactly what has happened to these little best friends in their lives so far, Pickle sadly bears facial scars that suggest their own sad stories. With the help of our supporters, the NAWT Clacton were able to offer the cute pair a chance at a bright new future. Whilst she sadly bears physical scars of her past, Pickle is fully focused on her future and the adventures that lie ahead for her and Lily once they are rehomed with new loving owners.
We appreciate that times are tough for a lot of us now, but anything you can give will help us to cover the expenses of caring for dogs like Pickle, Lily and their friends (just some of which are pictured in this just giving pages gallery) whilst we find them their perfect forever homes. Along with the costs of feeding and housing every dog or cat in need, each one also needs routine healthcare like parasite control, microchipping, and neutering. These essential costs soon add up for individual animals, and that is without the addition of veterinary treatment and medications, which many dogs and cats in rescue need before they can be happily adopted. Your donations mean even more to us as the cost of these overheads continue to rise, and we would like to thank you in advance for helping homeless dogs and cats a chance in their hour of need.
