Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS), provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for NI. Serious or life-threatening situations can happen to anyone at any time and on average every day one individual finds themselves in need of AANI.

Story

The Step Up for Air Ambulance NI challenge is a fantastic way to kickstart the New Year. By committing to 10,000 steps a day throughout January, participants will collectively take 310,000 steps over the month, improving their own health and fitness while raising crucial funds for your Air Ambulance.

Those who complete the challenge will also be invited to the Air Ambulance base in Lisburn to present their fundraising cheque and see first-hand the helicopter they’ve helped keep in the air.

It takes 10,000 steps a day to power your challenge, it takes £8,200 a day to power the Air Ambulance. On average, the medical team are tasked to two critical incidents each day where their pre-hospital interventions could mean the difference between life and death. By setting your fundraising target at £100 and getting sponsored by friends, family and colleagues for your challenge, you could help fuel the helicopter, ensuring the team can reach critically ill and injured people across the province.
