Life with a parent serving in the RAF has its positives. It can be fun and exciting, and children and young people are often proud of their parents.
However, young people from RAF families can face unique challenges: separation from parents who are deployed overseas, frequent moves around the country to new stations and having to start at new schools and make new friends.
With youth clubs on all RAF stations in the UK, Airplay is a safe and fun place to thrive, get active, interact with peers and engage in age-appropriate, issue-based sessions that affect them e.g. addiction, cyberbullying and keeping safe online.
Current Airplay membership is a staggering 2,947 children and young people from serving families who attend weekly sessions.
By delivering consistent, high-quality support to young people, the programme helps to relieve some of the pressure on serving parents and provides vital continuity for children relocating between RAF stations and help them thrive.
Your support will really spur on the intrepid Riding on Air 2025 team to complete the gruelling route and help the RAF Benevolent Fund continue supporting children and young people from serving RAF families.
Thank you so much for your generosity which is hugely appreciated!
