Story
The Broxburn & Livingston Brass Brand (B&L) formed in October 2004 from the amalgamation of two West Lothian bands: Broxburn Public and Livingston Brass Band.
The Broxburn Public Band was one of Scotland's oldest bands and were present at the first Scottish Championship contest in 1895, then playing in the 2nd section. Promoted to the Championship section in 1898 the band's golden age was at the start of the 20th century. They were crowned Scottish Champions in 1901 and 1902 and rarely finished outside of the top four in the period until the outbreak of the Great War in 1914.

Livingston Brass were formed in 1976 and competed at their first Scottish Championship in 1979 where they finished 11th in the 4th section. The band achieved Championship section status in 1987 where they remained for the next six years. In their short life the Livingston band made a name for themselves as one of the surprise packages of the Scottish banding scene.

In March 2024, B&L were placed 2nd in the Second Section at the Scottish Brass Band Championships in Perth. In addition, our Soprano Cornet player was identified as Best Instrumentalist in our section!
We are immensely proud of this achievement which gives Broxburn & Livingston Band the opportunity to travel to Cheltenham Racecourse in September 2024 to represent Scotland at the 2nd Section Finals of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

This is an honour which the band are really looking forward to, but which takes a lot of organisation, and more importantly has a significant cost to the band.
Can you contribute towards, or help us fundraise to cover the cost of a professional conductor, travel, accommodation, purchase of the test piece, and rehearsal venues both at home and in Cheltenham?
All small and large contributions are gratefully received. Thank you!
