Saving bats for what its worth

Every year, thousands of people phone us to help grounded or injured bats that they find. But our bat care work has no guaranteed source of income and is wholly dependent on peoples generosity.

We are the leading non-governmental organisation in the UK solely devoted to the conservation of bats and the landscapes on which they rely. Everything we do works towards our vision of a world rich in wildlife where bats and people thrive together.

Story

You’ve already done something amazing by helping a bat in need!

Thank you so much for contacting the National Bat Helpline or consulting our website about the bat that you rescued. Thanks to your compassion, the bat got the care it needed, and you became part of the community that rescues thousands of bats each year. During our busiest period, the team are contacted about 115 bats needing help every day!

Our emergency bat rescue helpline runs on a donate what you can basis. We have no guaranteed source of funding for this work, so we depend on public donations to let us keep helping the people who rescue bats.

Please take a moment to give back to the service that helped you, so that the next person who finds a bat in trouble can get the same support.

The average donor gives between £15 and £25, but any amount you can spare will help us answer another urgent call.

On behalf of the whole team and the bats you have helped protect, thank you once again.
