As trustees of Brighter Futures Zambia (BFZ), we are on a mission to raise much-needed funds for our small but mighty charity.

Nine trustees (Katie, Tosan, Kevin, Alice, Jennie, Ciara, Katy, Chris and Anthony) have committed to undertake a challenge to raise funds which will ensure we can continue to run our life changing projects in Zambia. We are taking part in events up and down the country and, in one case, ultra-running up mountains in the tropical conditions of La Reunion!

Our projects make a huge difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people in Zambia, providing them with the education and holistic support they need to live happier, healthier, and safer lives.

Zambia is currently experiencing the effects of the worst drought in over 40 years. The drought has led to catastrophic crop losses, increased livestock deaths, and hunger for the vulnerable children, young people and women that we work with.

With a target of £7500, we can continue to provide breakfast and lunch for the 90 young children who attend our pre-school every day for the next 12 months. Our school meal programme is especially important during this drought period, providing vital nutrition while food is scarce for the families in the school community.

BFZ is run entirely by volunteers in the UK, with the sole purpose of improving the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia.
