Brigid's world changed in September 2025 when she was diagnosed with metastatic bowel and bone cancer. From that moment on, she and her family faced an unimaginable journey. Throughout it all, The Royal Marsden provided exceptional care, compassion, and hope when it was needed most.

Rather than letting cancer define her, Brig chose to make a difference. She launched a challenge to collectively complete the 18,861 kilometres between Wellington, New Zealand and London. Her vision was to bring people together, and raise funds for the hospital that had supported her.

Sadly, Brigid passed away in April 2026, but her courage, generosity, and fighting spirit remain. This fundraiser is now more than a challenge. It is a celebration of Brigid's life, her resilience, and her desire to help others, even in the face of her own illness.
