Story
In the last two years Cambridge United supporters have taken part in a memorial walk in memory of Robert Osbourn, the former Chair of CFU (Cambridge Fans United).
This walk was over 10km from the CUFC Training Ground in Bentley Road to the Cledara Abbey Stadium. The walk has raised thousands of pounds for the CUFC Foundation and the British Heart Foundation.
Robert was a board member of CFU from 2006-2023 and the Chair from 2016-2021, his leadership of the CFU board coming at a key point in the club’s history.
This year with CFU celebrating its 25th Anniversary it has been decided to change the format of this Memorial event to encourage as many supporters and members of our community as possible to get involved.
During this month-long virtual event we are encouraging fans to get active throughout November as part of “United In Motion – Challenge 25”
We are encouraging as many supporters as possible to set themselves a challenge of getting active around the number 25 by taking part in walking, running, cycling or swimming or any other physical activity throughout November. Some examples could be.
• Walking or running for 25 minutes per day
• Cycling 25 miles per week
• Running 25 miles during November
• Swimming 25 lengths of a pool per week
The options are endless! It’s your challenge based on your abilities.
Plus, with Heart & Cardiovascular disease responsible for about 25% of deaths in people under 75 in the UK, maintaining a physically active lifestyle can significantly lower the risk of this happening.
Plus in taking the challenge you will help raise money for our two great causes the Cambridge United Foundation and the British Heart Foundation.
It’s your challenge! This November be UNITED IN MOTION - CHALLENGE 25!
And everyone who takes part will be invited to celebrate at the CFU Takeover day when the U’s take on Crewe Alexandra FC in the EFL League Two on Saturday 29th November.
