CMV Action is a UK organisation of parents and volunteers, who have come together to support families, to raise public awareness of congenital CMV, and campaign for better prevention measures within our health service. We offer advice, support and friendship to anyone affected by congenital CMV, advocating for families and working with a number of medical professionals who have an interest in this field.

Story

CMV Warrior - Uniting awareness and action this CMV Awareness Month

Imagine a world where every child has a fair start. Every day in the UK many individuals and families are facing the challenges that cytomegalovirus (CMV) brings. Each day these families show determination and resilience and are truly warriors in their own right. This CMV Awareness month we're inviting you to join us as a fundraising warrior and raise funds and awareness to support the work of CMV Action.

Shining a light on CMV

CMV quietly affects countless lives, but the impact can be huge, especially to babies born with congenital CMV (cCMV). Despite this CMV is still widely unknown amongst the public. CMV Action are working to change this and work hard to raise awareness of this easily preventable virus.

CMV Awareness Month is our chance to make a real difference for families affected by CMV. By joining our campaign you can be part of something truly impactful. Sarah Dewar, Chair, CMV Action

Leah & Beth - Love and Resilience

Read the story of Leah and her daughter Beth. This story follows Leah's journey of discovering her daughter Beth's hearing loss due to congenital CMV, despite initial dismissals from medical professionals. Leah's showed incredible strength and resilience in advocating Beth's best interests - just like her daughter, she is a true warrior. Leah shares her story to offer hope to other families facing similar situations.
