Story
SkegVegas100 has had over a decade of success with cyclists completing the 100 mile journey from the heart of Derby to Skegness every year raising over £160k in total.
We're delighted that this year the Amble to Ashbourne will be returning - a 20 mile walk from the heart of Derby - along with a brand new 13 mile walk option! The walks follow the Bonnie Prince Charlie route to the centre of Ashbourne, gateway to the Peak District.
Fundraisers will select their event, assemble at the Derby Arena on Saturday 16th May 2026 and Bike or Hike their way to raising much needed funds to support local children’s holidays.
Thank you for your support!
Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre – Skegness
For over 130 years, the Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre has provided much-needed holidays, opportunities, and experiences for disadvantaged children across Derbyshire. A week at our Skegness Centre can make a lasting difference - boosting confidence, broadening horizons, and creating lifelong memories. In a safe and structured environment, children can relax, make new friends, and simply enjoy being children, while their parents receive valuable respite.
2026 will see the return of holidays at DCHC - ready to continue transforming young lives for generations to come.
Derby Kids’ Camp – Peak District.
Established 52 years ago this entirely volunteer-run charity provides free holidays for over 300 of Derbyshire’s most deserving children each year, with children nominated by schools. Through 5 weeks of summer camp, they deliver high level experiences for children who need a break.
These children face huge challenges in their day-to-day lives: from poverty to bereavement; social interaction difficulties and the challenges of being a young carer. Their week at Derby Kids’ Camp gives them the chance to try out new activities, explore new surroundings, make new friends – and more importantly, enjoy being a kid!
