Story
DUCFS 2026 'Reality: Rewired' plunges our audiences into a reflection on how technology dictates our modern lives, inviting them to question the systems we navigate daily and the balance we negotiate between digital innovation and human authenticity. We will explore the tension between technology’s seamless integration and its inevitable imperfections, reminding us that progress can never fully replicate the depth of real experience. Join us as we step into the #glitch.
This year, we’re proud to support Marie Curie, the UK’s leading end-of-life care charity, with a focus on the North East. Marie Curie provides vital care for people at the end of their lives and support for their loved ones.
Our goal is to fund the Companion Volunteer Service in and around Durham for two years, and the North East Clinical Educator Role for one year. The Companion Volunteer Service will provide free emotional and practical support to people affected by terminal illness, while the North East Clinical Educator Role will aid the charity to recruit, train, and upskill staff to deliver exceptional care to people at the toughest stages of their lives.
We will also be supporting DUCFS Launchpad, our creative outreach platform. Through a series of projects focused on the local community, arts, and music, Launchpad aims to ignite change in the North East. This year these projects include the Launchpad DJ School, as well as supporting RT Projects amongst others.
#GLITCH
100% of profits from all fundraising activity will go directly to Marie Curie and DUCFS Launchpad. Of the total amount raised, 8% will go to DUCFS Launchpad, with the remaining 92% of funds going directly to Marie Curie to fund their projects in the North East.
