Help the University of Dundee solve the Parkinson's puzzle.
Help the University of Dundee solve the Parkinson's puzzle.
Around 145,000 people live with Parkinson's in the UK, and the number is rising. For a condition that touches the lives of so many people, surprisingly little is known about it. There is still no cure and no way of slowing its progress. However, researchers in the University of Dundee’s School of Life Sciences are making significant progress in uncovering why Parkinson’s behaves the way it does.
Parkinson's is the fastest-growing neurological disorder globally. The number of people living with Parkinson's is expected to double by 2040, and it is currently impossible to predict who will develop the condition. Donations help our researchers tackle this growing healthcare challenge head-on.
Large parts of the puzzle are already in place. But while we have made significant steps, we know that we are capable of taking leaps forward in our quest to develop new treatments for Parkinson’s disease.
Parkinson’s has not given up its secrets easily, but our experts have a proven track record of success in making breakthroughs that could lead to even bigger discoveries. We have the people, the commitment and the determination to make a difference, but we need to keep attracting the brightest minds and purchasing the latest technology if we do not want to waste this potential.
Together we have the potential to transform lives now and for years to come.
