Support #TeamFEC

Support #TeamFEC as they embark on their London Marathon training and fundraising journeys. We have 12 brave individuals, each with a connection to the Forces Employment Charity, ready to don the coveted FEC running top and raise money for our vital services.

Who are Forces Employment Charity?

The Forces Employment Charity provides life-long, life-changing support, jobs and training opportunities to Service leavers, Veterans, Reservists and their spouses, partners and children. We have been specialists in what we do since 1885 and help thousands of veterans and their families every year. Much of our staff have lived experience of the Armed Forces, and many were once FEC clients!

What’s the need?

The transition between life in the Armed Forces and civilian life can be very challenging for some, as Veterans can face extra barriers such as bias, discrimination, or not knowing how to translate their immense skillset into civilian job applications. This can lead to unfulfilling employment, a loss of confidence, feelings of loneliness and more.

Families (Armed Forces spouses, partners and children) can be affected by the Armed Forces lifestyle as they face separation, relocation and sacrifice. This can lead to difficulties with job retention, a loss of friends, community and potential gaps in education.

How does Forces Employment Charity help?

The Forces Employment Charity provides employment support to the whole Armed Forces Community. We enable direct access to career opportunities with employers that understand the military community and want to benefit from their immense skillsets. At FEC we rely on our valued donors and supporters to ensure that everybody who registers with us can access specialised one-to-one support.

Our highly trained employment advisors help with:

- Confidence building and raising aspirations

- Networking help

- Upskilling opportunities

- Employment support including how to transfer military skills and interview techniques

- Further-needs referrals to other charities or professional bodies.

The Forces Employment Charity facilitates networking events and employment pathways through partnerships with established companies, and equip our clients with the skills and certitude needed to take on a new challenge.

Any amount, no matter how small or large, will help countless veterans and their families to benefit from our work. We see and are so grateful for every single donation that is made, as it allows us to keep achieving our mission: supporting veterans and their families to live fulfilling working lives. When donating, please remember to leave a special message for your runner!
