Story
Prostate cancer affects men in every walk of life, including the construction industry.
In the UK, 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime, yet it remains the only major cancer without a national screening programme. Early prostate cancer often has no symptoms, meaning too many men are diagnosed too late.
Men working in construction are statistically less likely to check their health or seek testing, which is why our Screw Prostate Cancer campaign is so important in taking the message directly to building sites, merchants and workplaces across the UK. To help us reach our ambitious targets we have:
• Launched a bespoke Spectre-branded screw case product, with profits from its sales going directly to the campaign
• Committed to donating 1% of all this year’s Spectre screw sales to the cause
• Planned companywide fundraising challenges, including running four marathons across the four nations of the UK – hoping to set a new world record for a runner dressed as a tool!
Every purchase and every donation help us get closer to hitting our ambitious targets and funds lifesaving research and encourages more men to take action and check their risk.
By supporting our campaign, you’re helping fund ground-breaking research, promote the Prostate Cancer UK Risk Checker, and ensure more men understand their risk and know what to do next.
Together, we will Screw Prostate Cancer!
