Make it your New Years Resolution to support us in our delivery of surplus food that will create 100,00 meals in January for vulnerable people across the North East.
FareShare North East is asking for your help to run our vans this January. We’ve launched the Route Runner Challenge to help you start your new year on the right foot. What better way to begin 2024 than getting your body moving while fundraising to support surplus food provision across the North East.
Our goal is to raise £6,000
That’s the price to run one of our vans for a whole year!
In a year one van will drive an average 26,100 miles,
Delivering an estimated 910 tonnes of surplus food
Together all of our vans contribute to nearly 2.8 million meals for the North East each year.
FareShare North East has 8 vans that leave our Newcastle and Middlesbrough depot each day. The average costs to run our vans equates to £6,000 per month. Our vans are vital to the service we provide for our community partners, who may otherwise have no other means to receive surplus food.
Each donation received will be put towards our van costs. It may be a donation that provides petrol for a trip from Newcastle to our Community Food Members in Blyth, or repairs for a van that is heading down to our Community Food Members in Redcar. Each donation will play a role in the surplus food provision we provide to communities throughout the North East.
