The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileHamta is a young child suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type 1. This is a genetic condition whereby the patient suffers from muscular dysfunction and problems with movement. Type 1 is the most severe form of the condition meaning the patient is unable to perform simple functions including sitting and breathing. It is diagnosed in children under the age of 6 months.
The only treatment option currently available is the world's most expensive drug, known as Zolgensma, which costs a staggering $ 2.3 million (1.7m GBP). Importantly, the drug is only effective up to two years of age, meaning Hamta only has 6 months left to receive it to achieve effective results.
The funds raised are to help Hamta with her primary medical SMA Type 1 needs. However, if events dictate that finance for her other emergency medical needs are prioritised, then they may be used for Hamta in other ways to help her health and recovery in respect of the SMA illness. In the event and for any legitimate reason that Hamta no longer needs the funds for her treatment (e.g. winning the medication raffle through Elimo or the pharmaceutical company), or is not able to receive the medical treatment, this fund will be used for another child with SMA illness.
Please donate now and save an innocent young child from living an insufferable life. We thank you in advance.
