Help children like Nural to get back to school when lockdown lifts . Nural says "I always love to go to school, but we have not been able to go during lockdown. I am looking forward to going again as I like the reading and writing, the playing and the games. Before lockdown, Nural and his classmates have been making videos as part of Moja Kids and he cant wait I want to be picked to be part of making a video soon!
Classrooms have been closed during lockdown, but are re-opening again after Eid. For almost a year children have continued to learn in small groups outside with their teachers, but they cant wait to be back with friends again in their colourful classrooms and school gardens.
This year our Ramadan appeal helps create protective spaces where slum dwelling Bangladeshi and Rohingya children can learn and have a chance to enjoy their childhoods.
Children in Coxs Bazar face so many barriers to attending school. Many children live in slums and have work to support their families, and many are Rohingya refugees who have fled to the Kutupalong mega camp, or whose families have moved inland from the refugee camps to escape the threat of deportation.
Children face growing up without a safe space to learn. For 12 years, Children on the Edge have been working alongside local communities in Bangladesh to create protective environments for children. Giving children a place where they are free to learn and develop, explore and grow without limitation or hindrance.
A gift of £8 can help educate a child in Bangladesh in a safe space for a month. Please give generously this Ramadan and help us to provide spaces for children to thrive.
