Brain Tumour Research is the leading voice of the brain tumour community and focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. We are campaigning to increase the national investment in research to £35 million per year and funding sustainable Centres of Excellence across the UK.

Story

John was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma brain tumour in July 2019 and although he was given just 12-18 months to live, he proved the doctors and nurses wrong. With true Yorkshire grit he simply got on with things and carried on enjoying life, despite the gruelling treatment he faced.

He was a loving husband and wonderful father. He was also courageous, kind, and such good fun and never lost his sense of humour.

John always spoke about his Glioblastoma diagnosis, prognosis and subsequent treatment as battles. We were his crew, always by his side every step of the way.

Sadly, we always knew one day John would lose his fight against Glioblastoma, and unfortunately this happened much sooner than any of us ever imagined in May 2023.

We have set up ‘John’s Crew’ in his memory to raise money for Brain Tumour Research in the hope that one day, the war against Glioblastoma will be won.

We would love our family and friends to continue their support by joining us in raising money for Brain Tumour Research.

Whether you undertake a challenge event, hold a your own fundraiser or get your company to choose Brain Tumour Research as a Charity Partner, every action will help us to #FundTheFight.
