Joseph lives with mum Katherine, dad Gareth and older sister Elizabeth in Anglesey, North Wales and was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy at the age of four.
The Hutchinson family were introduced to Muscular Dystrophy UK and have been supported with information about the condition and with assistance on housing adaptations for Josephs needs.
The family decided to get involved in raising funds to help pay for research into treatments for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and, after taking part in a variety of challenges, with more to come, decided to set up their own Family Fund, Josephs Journey, to encourage other family members and friends to join them in supporting fundraising for treatments.
We hope that we can attract friends and family to join us on Josephs Journey. If everyone gets involved we can all make a difference together.
Net proceeds from Josephs Journey will be split with 80% of the funds will go towards research, and the remaining 20% held in trust for Joseph's future care needs, which will become extensive as he grows older.
