Kick a Habit for Kidney Disease
People living with chronic kidney disease face challenges every single day. This October, you can help make sure they don't have to face them alone by taking part in Kick a Habit for Kidney Disease.
We'd like you to choose one habit to kick for 31 days, or kick start a new, positive one. Then ask your friends, family, colleagues or school to sponsor you.
Could you kick takeaways, online shopping, scrolling on social media or chocolate into touch? Or kick start a hobby, learn a new skill, exercise daily or carry out a random act of kindness?
For many people, living with chronic kidney disease can mean giving up their favourite food and drink, holidays, hobbies and precious time with family and friends. For people on dialysis, life is often planned around hours of grueling treatment. Even a successful transplant isn't a cure.
Taking on a challenge is a great way to improve your own wellbeing while supporting others. You might save money, adopt a healthier lifestyle, or finally break a habit you've been meaning to give up ready for Christmas - all while raising essential funds for a cause that matters.
How it works
1. Choose one habit to kick - or one positive habit to kick start
2. Sign up here https://www.kidney.org.uk/sign-up
3. Create your fundraising page via JustGiving
4. Share your challenge with friends, family and colleagues.
5. Complete your 31 day challenge in October.
The money you raise will help fund the NKF’s Patient Helpline and Information Service, providing trusted advice, practical information and emotional peer support to thousands of kidney patients and their families every year.
Together, we can make sure more people have somewhere to turn for support, reassurance and hope.
Good luck and don't forget to share your challenge with us!
