About the Markel Magnolia Cup 2026
Every year, the Markel Magnolia Cup brings together an extraordinary group of women willing to take on an incredible challenge: months of training, dedication and fundraising, all leading to one unforgettable race at Goodwood.
But this event is about far more than race day.
In 2026, the Markel Magnolia Cup is supporting Education Above All Foundation and Educate A Child International (EACI), helping girls and young people around the world access education, develop skills and build brighter futures.
Each jockey is racing not only for the finish line, but for young people whose opportunities have been limited by poverty, conflict and displacement.
Why This Matters
Around the world, millions of girls are still denied access to education and opportunity simply because of where they were born, their gender, or the impact of conflict and poverty.
Education Above All Foundation works with global and local partners to help children and young people move from exclusion to opportunity — supporting them not only to access education, but to stay in school, gain skills and move towards meaningful employment and independence.
“At the heart of the Education Above All Foundation is a simple but powerful belief: when a girl is given the chance to learn, she gains the power to shape her own future, and to lift her family and community with her.”
Your Support Could Help Young Women Like These

Ahlam – Egypt
In rural Egypt, Ahlam combined her education with entrepreneurship training and launched a business transforming fish waste into marine collagen. Her work is now contributing to her family’s income while helping build climate resilience in her community.
Her story shows what becomes possible when girls are supported not just to learn, but to lead.
Mutoni – Rwanda
At just 13 years old, Mutoni had already been forced out of school after her father left and her mother struggled to support the family. She faced growing pressure to abandon her education altogether.
Through Education Above All’s work in Rwanda, Mutoni joined a catch-up learning programme designed for children who had missed years of schooling. Today, she is rebuilding her confidence and working towards her dream of becoming a doctor.
Ehsan – Yemen
Conflict forced Ehsan to pause her university studies, but through entrepreneurship training and small-scale finance support, she was able to establish her own tailoring business. Today, she is supporting herself and her family while becoming a role model for other young women in her community.
Why the Markel Magnolia Cup Jockeys Are Taking Part
The Markel Magnolia Cup jockeys are stepping far outside their comfort zones in support of this mission.
Behind the glamour of race day are months of early mornings, training, nerves and determination, all driven by a shared belief that every young person deserves the chance to learn, grow and shape their own future.
By donating, you are supporting both the incredible women taking part in this challenge and the girls and young people worldwide whose futures can be transformed through education and opportunity.
