Story
Durham Marie Curie Fundraising Group officially launched in 2012. The group meets regularly to plan various activities across the Durham City area. From managing collection tins and taking part in Marie Curie events, the group also plan plenty of their own events, which have previously included pub quizzes, game nights and coffee mornings. Since forming, the group have raised over £56,500 for Marie Curie and helped ensure people locally know about the services available, including the Durham Rapid Response Service.
Since 2011, Marie Curie has set up Fundraising Groups across the UK to help raise money and awareness for the charity in their local area. They are a vital part of the Marie Curie family, raising a fantastic amount each year to help ensure we can keep supporting people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones. This is through our wide range of services including hospices, nursing, Information and Support services and research.
