Story
Whether you walk a mile a day, take on an epic cycle challenge or rack up your miles in the pool - create a Miles that Matter challenge that feels meaningful to you.
It’s not about being the fastest or going the furthest. It’s about taking on a challenge that’s personal to you – it could be becoming more active, spending time with friends and family or remembering someone close to you.
It's easy to take part:
- Set your challenge
- Set up your fundraising page by clicking 'start fundraising' (see right)
- Walk, run, cycle, swim or move your way through the month of September
- Share your progress and ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you
You can take part on your own, with family, with friends, as a workplace, or as part of a team.
The funds you raise will help us work with hospitals and community healthcare organisations to set up and run teams of Butterfly Volunteers, who give their time to sit with people who are dying.
Here's the difference that taking part in Miles that Matter could make:
£10 – Enable a comforting visit. Supports volunteers to bring companionship to someone at the end of their life.
£25 – Train a volunteer. Helps prepare volunteers to provide care and comfort to patients and families.
£100 – Sustain volunteer services. Keeps our volunteer-centred services running so more patients can be reached.
What will I get when I take part?
The Anne Robson Trust team will be here to guide you every step of the way, support you to set your personal challenge and smash your goals, including:
- Hints and tips to help you reach your fundraising target
- A mile tracker sheet or support using tracking apps
- An Anne Robson Trust t-shirt to wear with pride during your challenge (optional for a small donation on our website)
Set up your fundraising page today by clicking 'start fundraising' (see right) or if you need more info, simply email: fundraising@annerobsontrust.org.uk.
Good luck and remember, every Mile really does Matter.
