For over 12 years, we have transformed the lives of marginalised young people aged 4-18 across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Living with profound and complex needs, we support young people who others struggle to access; falling through the cracks in support between health and education.

Story

One-Eighty is a mental health and behaviour support charity. We work across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, empowering children and young people to improve their mental health and re-engage with education.

Through intensive one-to-one sessions, we support children and young people dealing with complex personal challenges (such as trauma, bereavement, mental health difficulties, and those with difficult family circumstances) which prevent them from engaging with school. Our focus is delivering sustainable, long-term change for each young person; putting them at the heart of our support and investing time with them and their family to give them the tools and strategies they need to return to education and have hope for the future.

We deliver preventative mental health projects to schools, and provide specialist training and support to professionals working with children and young people.

Join our team and turn young lives around

Last year we celebrated 10 years of One-Eighty and took part in the Blenheim 7k for the very first time. Over 70 runners joined our team, raising an incredible £12,000! Help us smash this target in 2023 by signing up to run with us. We'll support you every step of the way and can't wait for you to join us.

Why Kieren is running for One-Eighty

Kieren, who works at One-Eighty, is running the Blenheim 7k for the second time.

I'm running the Blenheim 7k again this year to raise vital funds so that One-Eighty can continue to support local young people and their families. Young people who are too anxious to leave their room, let alone their house, to face outside or school. Young people at risk of exploitation who are resistant to the help of professionals. Children who have experienced a number of traumatic experiences such as neglect. These challenges leave young people struggling to manage their feelings in school which can cause outbursts, or what many of us may see as disruptive or naughty behaviour.

We will consistently turn up for them. We aim to give them hope for the future (maybe for the first time) and support them to get there in any way we can. We help them to understand their emotions and support them to learn strategies to manage them so they can learn how to ask for help.

The number of young people we have got out of their room when no-one else could, is too many to count. The young people now in school or education that were at risk of a life of being left behind, is too many to count. The number of young people we have supported to turn their lives around, is too many to count.

Sign up to join our One-Eighty team today and help us to turn more young lives around.
