Story
Thank you for supporting the Peak District Walking Challenge in aid of the McCarthy Stone Foundation.
On Wednesday 13 May 2026, a group of brave McCarthy Stone colleagues, partners and suppliers will take on the Peak District Walking Challenge, set in the heart of the stunning National Park.
This is not for the faint-hearted. Walkers will face challenging terrain, steep climbs, and unpredictable weather, with distances of 27km or 46km to test endurance, stamina, and determination. Every step will push participants to their limits — all in support of a truly worthy cause.
Why we’re walking
The McCarthy Stone Foundation works to reduce loneliness and isolation among people aged 65 and over, particularly in areas of high deprivation.
Every pound raised goes directly to support:
Dementia support charities
Befriending services
Local social and community groups
Your donations will help older people stay connected, supported, and valued, making a real, life-changing difference.
Every donation counts — and is doubled!
Thanks to match funding, every donation made to this campaign page is doubled, so your generosity has twice the impact.
Participants aim to raise a minimum of £100, helping cover essential event and safety costs — but the bigger the sponsorship, the greater the difference we can make for older people facing loneliness.
Support our brave souls
Thank you for supporting everyone taking on this tough, exhilarating challenge. Your generosity will help ensure more older people can access the support, connection, and community they deserve.
💙 Together, we can push boundaries and make a real difference.
