Every week in the UK 70 people suffer an aortic dissection.
Aortic Dissection occurs when there is a partial tear in the aortic wall. It is a time critical-medical emergency that without diagnosis and treatment, is often fatal.
The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust is the UK and Ireland charity uniting patients, families and the medical community in a shared goal of improving diagnosis, increasing survival and reducing disability due to aortic dissection.
#TeamAorta are running to raise funds for aortic dissection research with the total sponsorship raised going directly to The Aortic Dissection Charitable Trust 2023 research grant fund. This funding provides support to projects with the overall aim of improving the clinical care of patients, to save lives and improve the quality of life for those suffering from aortic dissection.
