Story
As our runners take on the Great Manchester Run, pushing themselves mile after mile through the streets of Manchester, families in Pakistan, Syria, and Gaza are facing a far more difficult test - the daily struggle to survive. For many, hunger is not occasional; it is constant.
In Pakistan, soaring food prices and deepening poverty, compounded by the lingering devastation of floods, have left families unable to afford even basic staples like flour, rice, and cooking oil. In Syria, more than a decade of conflict and displacement has shattered livelihoods, forcing families to rely on aid as food becomes increasingly scarce and unaffordable. In Gaza, where access to clean water is severely limited and 96% of households report difficulty securing it, families face the aggravated hardship of thirst alongside hunger.
“The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever relieves a Muslim of some worldly distress, Allah will relieve him of some of the distress of the Day of Resurrection’.”
