We are one of the largest Scout Groups in the UK offering weekly meetings for c 350 children aged 4-17 with a focus on the water. We also have an active Young Leader scheme and Duke of Edinburgh Award programme to allow our older Members to develop leadership skills.

Story

In August 2024, we are sending a patrol of Explorers and Young Instructors to Nakuru, Kenya, to volunteer at a School providing free education for the poorest in the local area. We are raising money to help cover the cost of us travelling to Kenya and cover our costs whilst there.

We also hope to establish ties with a local Scout group for the mutual benefit of their Scouts and ours and to visit the tomb of Robert Baden-Powell, founder of Scouting, who is buried in Kenya.

This will give participants a fantastic opportunity to volunteer, experience a new culture and develop their teamwork and ledership skills, as well as make international scouting connections.
