Sidmouth Hospice at Home is the hospice service for the Sidmouth and wider Sid Valley community, providing free, specialist 24 hour clinical care to Patients, at home, along with practical and emotional support to their family members, before and beyond bereavement.
The charity fully funds a team of 12 Specialist Palliative Care Nurses, a Wellbeing Centre, range of Support Services, a community Information Hub and a small, dedicated administrative team.
Our service is considered to be both exemplary - with the 'Sidmouth Model' described as a example for positive change - and also as innovative, as all of our specialist care is provided to patients at home, allowing them to spend precious time with those that matter most.
Whilst proven to represent excellent value, in the coming year it will cost more than £900k to fund our service. In the absence of statutory funding to support our day-to-day costs, we are entirely reliant on donations.
We remain a hospice service funded by the community, for the community, making it all the more remarkable. In the words of Dame Cicely Saunders, Founder of the modern Hospice movement...
How people die remains in the memory of those who live on.
With your support, we can be there for our patients, and their loved ones, throughout the journey of end of life and loss.
Every donation makes a difference. Thank you sincerely for your support.
