Many of us will have experienced the impact on friends or family who have suffered as a result of a heart attack or a stroke or benefited from lifesaving heart surgery. It is important that we continue to support research and investment into preventative education campaigns, appropriate medical research and direct support to those who have been impacted. I have seen first hand the devastation that a sudden heart attack, often fatal, can have along with seeing colleagues supported to receive life-saving heart treatment.
