In February 2026, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life returns to Tanzania for another creative mission — combining our pioneering ‘Get Equipped’ and ‘Street to Street’ projects to empower the street-involved youth of Angels Gate Boys’ Home through music, art, and self-expression.

This special trip will bring together an incredible team of world-renowned and ‘get to know’ artists, musicians, and creative talent — including INJA, Nicki Belle, Peachzz, My Dog Sighs, Tamp Two, Jane Reeves, Ty and Neil Kemp, along with our music-loving trustees Jono Heale and Kamelia Zaal. They will join LNADJ team members Jonny Lee, James Holdsworth, and Ellie Talebian to share their talents and hearts with the boys of Angels Gate.

For many of these young people, life on the streets began at an age when they should have only known love and safety. Now, at Angels Gate, they’re finding hope, brotherhood, and new beginnings.

Creative programmes like these aren’t standard in Tanzania, and traditional school curriculums aren’t always the right fit for children who’ve had adverse life experiences. These projects offer something different — a way to learn, express, and connect in a space that feels safe and inspiring.

They’ve also become a powerful tool for Angels Gate, helping to keep boys engaged and off the streets. When outreach workers meet street youth, being able to tell them there’s DJ equipment, art workshops, and creative spaces waiting for them makes all the difference. It’s often the spark that encourages them to come inside and find safety.

Through music and art, we aim to create spaces where young people can learn new skills, share knowledge, and build their own micro-communities — places filled with expression, joy, and brotherhood.

🎧 Whilst the Get Equipped part of the programme will continue to offer our much-loved mix of DJing and music production sessions, this year we’re adding something extra special. With the incredible INJA, Jane Reeves, and Nicki Belle joining us, there’ll be a strong focus on poetry, rap, MCing, and creating a choir — and all the magic that brings!

We’re so excited to teach and share songwriting skills with the boys, helping them explore new ways to express themselves through rhythm, words, and melody.

🎨 Street to Street will transform the walls of Angels Gate and a rehabilitation centre with collaborative murals, guided by our incredible artists — empowering the youth to express their stories, emotions, and dreams through colour and creativity.

Together, these projects will:

🖌️ Foster collaboration and community through shared artistic experiences.

❤️ Show the world the potential and resilience of Tanzania’s street-involved youth.

We will always visit our beloved and trusted partners on the ground at Feathers Tale to share joy through music therapy inspired sessions and singing. Feathers Tale is a sanctuary for children with special educational needs, disabilities and those who have faced extreme adversity or are receiving end of life care. Here, single mothers and orphaned children are given the support they truly need.

Every donation and piece of equipment helps us continue this vital work — delivering tools, workshops, and hope where it’s needed most.
