Story
Here at Fareshare Sussex & Surrey we take good-quality surplus food that would otherwise be thrown away and redistribute it to charities, community groups, foodbanks and community kitchens that feed people in need. We support a wide range of vulnerable groups, including: low-income families and individuals, homeless people, refugees and asylum seekers, survivors of domestic abuse, the elderly, people living in supported accommodation and many more.
In short…anyone at risk of food poverty or crisis across the counties.
At FareShare Sussex & Surrey, we don’t just move food to where it needs to be, we move it sustainably.
Many of our team and volunteers are also passionate cyclists, so organising a ride from Surrey to Sussex, across the breadth (or length!) of our distribution reach, felt like a natural way to bring people together around something that reflects who we are.
This cycle ride isn’t just a fundraiser, it’s a symbol of how we work every day, connecting communities ethically, reducing waste and making sure good food reaches the people who need it most.
Every mile you ride helps us deliver more food, support more local organisations, and reduce waste across Sussex and Surrey.

Our goal is to raise £10,000, which will create a total of around 40,000 meals for the Sussex & Surrey communities.

Join the team and make every mile count. We’re looking for keen cyclists and supporters to help us smash our target goal. Thank you!
