Join our Autumn Appeal fundraising challenge
Date: 1 – 31 October
This October, Team WLT is setting out on a virtual journey to travel 5,247 miles (8,445 km) — the distance from World Land Trust’s Suffolk office to the location of our Autumn Appeal: El Silencio Reserve in Colombia.
Set yourself a challenge for the month of October and help us reach our target — whether you prefer to walk, run, cycle, or even swim, choose the activity that works for you and do as much or as little as you like. All abilities are welcome, and every mile will make a huge difference.
Why not aim to match your distance in pounds? For example, raise £1 for every mile or km you do through October.
Your miles will contribute towards our overall team goal to reach the reserve and every pound you raise will help to protect Colombia’s Middle Magdalena Valley, irreplaceable forest, wetlands and wildlife.
We have an urgent opportunity to save 1,495 hectares (3,694 acres) of highly threatened land before it’s lost forever to deforestation. With your support, our partner Fundación Biodiversa Colombia (FBC) will expand their El Silencio reserve through the purchase of two neighbouring properties and fund two new rangers to patrol them.
Donations received during the month of October will be matched to triple their value. That means a fundraising total of £100 will be matched to make a £300 contribution, tripling your impact towards our Autumn Appeal fundraising target.
Act now and together we will expand El Silencio while there is still time.

The money that is given to World Land Trust, in my estimation, has more effect on the wild world than almost anything I can think of. ~ Sir David Attenborough, Patron of World Land Trust
