Death Valley, California, is the driest and hottest area in N. America. The hottest atmospheric temperature ever recorded on earth was taken there in 1916 (56.7 °C)!! 

In October 2016 a group of brave volunteers from N. Ireland will be trekking through Death Valley to fundraise for a range of charities. Befrienders For Disability is one of them.

BFD works with disabled people in N. Ireland, offering the hand of friendship to the most lonely and vulnerable in society through visitation, practical help, and social events.

BFD also supports the Metropolitan Sanctuary in Nyeri, Kenya, a clinic offering free therapy to children with disabilities. It's a lifeline for the kids who attend, and offers hope and support to their families who otherwise would not be able to afford such treatment.
