We are planning next year's big event already, following on from the huge success of Rotherham's first Story Festival this year.   Picture the scene. 2019. A summers eve. A festival, filled with folk music, fables and fairytales. Written by the children. Performed by celebrated artists. A magical event for all involved. 

OK, now backtrack a little. Summer 2018. We want to put on a full programme of workshops during the summer holidays and beyond, bringing in artists to work with children and young people, creating fantastic work that will be showcased at the festival. 

We change lives, one story at a time.  The children involved in this project will see their work performed on stage, recorded and published.  They will see their work being celebrated, applauded and valued, in a way that inspires them to a better future and helps them to see themselves as writers.  Not only that, but other children attending the festival will see that it is possible for them to create a bit of magic too!

We are aiming to raise £5,000, which will allow us to welcome 30 children into the Writers Pad for workshops across the summer.  The funds will pay for celebrated artists to come in and work with our children, as well as all the resources and equipment needed to produce the songs.  We also plan to publish a songbook to showcase the fabulous work.

£10 helps with stationery and writing tools for children's workshops and activities

£20 pays the printing costs to print a whole week of children's writing activities from our out of school clubs 

£100 pays for an artist to deliver a workshop.
