Walk The World
Campaign by Save the Children (RCN England and Wales (213890) Scotland (SC039570))
2020 was a devastating year for children all over the world. The coronavirus pandemic affected the lives of everyone, but it is children who will face a future of uncertainty. Walk the World for Save the Children and change their future for good.

Story

I am Treasurer of  the Preston fundraising Branch and walking seemed a perfect way to help raise much needed funds for the work of Save the Children in these unprecedented times.

Together with my wife, Arlette, we decided to raise funds via these pages for our Northern Fundraisers team and the Preston Branch by collectively walking the virtual 2,786 miles to Al Hol refugee camp in Syria

Finally after 282 days and 2,786 miles, on 17 February Arlette & I reached our virtual destination of Al Hol in Syria.

To date (17/2/22) our efforts have raised £1,020 for Save the Children’s projects which had suffered through expenses/restrictions imposed during  the covid epidemic and the UK Government’s draconian cuts to UK overseas aid. ( The estimated government cuts for 2021 alone were £4bn)

We are very grateful to everyone who has supported us in any way by helping us to raise this magnificent amount

Should you want to join in with a monetary celebration of our success my page will be open to receive donations for several more weeks

Thank you again for all your support.
