Event: Head Start 5k & 10K, on 7 May 2017
The ROSA™ surgical assistant aids neurosurgeons to undertake complicated brain surgery which may not have been possible without it's assistance due to it's precision and minimally invasive technique.

Story

I started running properly at the start of December last year and set myself a goal of entering a 10k before the year was out.  I've already surpassed that as I ran 10k up a hill in March, but this is technically the first race at this distance I entered, and I am going to be attacking it and going for a fast time - target is under 1hr, current projection is 53 minutes. No pressure.

The fact this event is in aid of Neuroscience and Neurology in Sheffield gives me all the more reason to go for it. Lives  have been saved by the kindness and generosity of the public, and every penny raised helps Neurocare fund life-saving equipment and ground-breaking research and training.
