LEEDS FRIENDS: Shiatsu Treatments in return for donations to Syria charity throughout March - please help.
I was moved to tears by a BBC News at Ten report from Eastern Ghouta in Syria, where a mother in a makeshift hospital felt it would be better for her injured son to die than to carry on living in such awful circumstances ("At least there will be food in heaven."), and the utter despair of a paediatrician at breaking point was devastating to watch.
There's not an awful lot that I can do to help directly, but I can do Shiatsu! I have therefore decided to donate payments for all treatments for the month of March to 'Hand in Hand for Syria', a charity working on the ground to provide food, medical equipment and support directly to those affected by the air strikes. I would like to raise as much as I can.
I offer a choice of two hour-long treatments from a centre in Chapel Allerton: Shiatsu (a Japanese acupressure massage given on a futon mattress over clothing) and 'Japanese Facial Rejuvenation' (a Shiatsu-based face/head/shoulders and foot massage using oil). Both are fabulous stress-relievers.
In order to get the money where it is needed as quickly as possible, if you would like a treatment, please make a donation of £30 or more on my Just Giving page and send me a message to arrange it (usually £40/35). Although I am accepting donations in lieu of payment throughout the month of March, treatments can be then taken any time (no expiry date), and can also be given as a gift to someone else.
(If you are not in Leeds and/or would like to make a donation of any amount without receiving a treatment, please feel free!).
Many, many thanks!
