Story
On Sunday 6th May, 2017, I will be running in the Neurocare 10k in Rother Valley Park in South Yorkshire. Neurocare is a charity that does valuable work supporting neurological patients (who may have brain injuries through trauma or infectious diseases) in the Sheffield area. Neurocare helps purchase equipment for the specialist neurowards at the Royal Hallamshire hospital (including a surgical robot) as well as the Osborn 4, the neuro-rehabilitation ward at the Northern General.
This cause is close to my heart because my brother several weeks in the Hallamshire and Osborn 4 last summer. My family and I got to know the corridors of the neurowards better than we ever wanted to but were impressed by the dedication of the NHS staff.
After Christmas, when I noticed I was beginning to look pudgier-than-usual I signed up to do the Neurocare 10k, which seemed to be an ideal way to get motivated to shed a few pounds while also supporting a good cause and saying 'thank you' to everybody who supported the Doaks in 2016.
If you would like to support Neurocare, please consider making a donation through my JustGiving page! Thank you for all of your support, Connor :)
