Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Lamby is running!

Just over 2 years ago I lost my Uncle to Sepsis which came as a massive shock to all of my family. He had only been suffering from what he thought was flu, only to be taken from us just a few hours later. We had no idea at the time it was Sepsis, and when we found out we didn’t really know much about what it was.

We all need to be more aware of how much of a tragic disease this is. I want to do my part to help reduce the number of deaths each year from it so other families don’t have to go through what we did.

Please help me reach my goal of £500. For those of you who know me well you will know that I wouldn’t do something like this if it wasn’t for a worthy cause.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
