For 40 years, Hospice of the Chesapeake has been caring for life throughout the journey with illness and loss. Join our $40 for 40 campaign for Chesapeake Kids and you can help us provide excellent care of children and family-centered care programs.

Story

“My mother died when I was nine years old. I had no one to talk to. No one to share the grief with, comfort me, give me a hug or to help me deal with the loss. It was an isolated situation. I turned out OK, but life wasn’t easy.

I wish there had been an organization like Hospice of the Chesapeake around back then.  There wasn’t. But thank goodness this organization exists today to help children and young adults deal with the loss of a loved one.”

In 2019 Hospice of the Chesapeake celebrates its 40th Anniversary. That’s 40 years of serving over 40,000 patients and their family and friends deal with the one thing we all will have to deal with eventually, losing a loved one.

One program they offer for surviving children is Chesapeake Kids and that’s what I am raising money for, because you can help mend a broken heart. You can help a child or young adult deal with the loss of a parent or family member and give them an opportunity I didn’t have.

We are asking for $40 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary, but any amount makes a difference.

You can immediately help by supporting this program in one of two ways:
