Hospice of the Chesapeake’s mission is caring for life throughout the journey with illness and loss. For 40 years, Hospice of the Chesapeake has provided hospice and supportive services to individuals living with or affected by advanced illness and loss, serving patients in Anne Arundel and Prince George's County, regardless of ability to pay. In addition to hospice care, HOC offers care to those living with chronic advanced illness through Chesapeake Palliative Medicine; community services through the Chesapeake Life Center including bereavement counseling, the Chesapeake Kids’ program offering perinatal/infant loss support, pediatric hospice/palliative care, and children/teen bereavement programs; and a Volunteer Program of trained volunteers providing care for patients and families.

Story

Hospice of the Chesapeake marks our 40th year of serving the community in 2019. We have already served more than 40,000 patients since our founding, and we look forward to celebrating our status as a leader in hospice, palliative and bereavement care in Anne Arundel and Prince Georges counties. You can help by being one of being part of our $40 for 40 campaign.

Why should I donate?

Hospice of the Chesapeake provides physical, psycho-social, spiritual and grief support services to individuals living with and affected by advanced illness. These services are provided wherever the patient calls home, whether that is a personal residence, home of a loved one, a skilled nursing facility or assisted/senior living community. We are committed to providing the best possible care for all regardless of their ability to pay. Using an interdisciplinary team-oriented approach involving our Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers, Certified Nursing Assistants, Chaplains, Counselors and Volunteers allows us to ensure quality and compassionate care.

Every gift matters. Hospice of the Chesapeake is a nonprofit organization and receives revenue from Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance. However, we do not receive enough from these sources to meet the needs of the community, especially for the youngest and smallest who need our care. By joining the $40 for 40 campaign, your gifts enable us to take care of all patients regardless of their payment source and to ensure we have the capacity to care for you and your loved ones in the future.

Services under the Chesapeake Kids umbrella:

- Pediatric hospice care

- Grief support for individuals, families and groups

- Grief camps for children and teens

The funds from donations such as yours will help us achieve the best levels of service for these programs and more!

Please - join our $40 for FORTY campaign and be a part of the 40th Anniversary efforts. Your donation makes a difference, especially when you let others know by sharing it on social media so your friends can make a difference, too.

Thank you for your support of our Chesapeake Kids programs!
