Update

Digger and I made it!!!  5 days was our goal and it was achieved.  A gruelling but ultimately hugely rewarding trek through glorious scenery.  My feet look as thought they've been through an industrial wood chipper but it was worth every step.  The support from you all has been phenomenal and humbling.  Karen would be very proud of you, as I am.  A heartfelt thanks to you all.

Karen was a very dear friend and a beautiful person.  When her life was tragically cut short in 2004 I felt compelled to do something worthwhile in her name and raise funds for research into cancer.  Treking the 84mile length of Hadrian's Wall came instantly to mind, and I don't know why - maybe it was Karen having a joke on me - but I decided straight away that I would do just that and have never wavered in my aim.

On Sunday 10 September I'll be setting out on my journey from Newcastle to Bowness on Solway with just a friend's labrador, Digger, for company.  I hope you'll spare a thought for the five day journey ahead of us and our six weary legs!

The trip of course is being funded by myself so that every penny of sponsorship will go straight to Cancer Research.
