The Heart of London's World Homeless Day campaign - come together for one day to Wear Orange and support people experiencing homelessness!

Story

Since I left London in 2012, homelessness has increased by almost 170%. There is a visible homeless crisis in San Francisco, London and the World with people being forced to sleep on the streets.

Homelessness can happen very quickly and to anyone. Life changes quickly and recovery is tough. Specialist support, shelter and campaigning are only possible with the support of people like you. Together we can help this important cause to rebuild lives going forward.

I know what it is like to have to leave a country you call home (twice) but I am privileged to have the support, skills and resources to start again. Many don't. I am fundraising for the Connections as they support people to recover from the trauma of street homelessness.

Please help by donating what you can to help me meet my £2000 goal by World Homeless Day on October 10. Let's raise awareness and funds to support this marginalised population.

80% of people have reported a mental health issue.

The average age expectancy of someone living on the streets is 47.

In response I am:

  • Volunteering to help London's homeless
  • Offering free fitness classes to boost mental health and raise awareness of rough sleeping with my community
  • Going sober for October to raise awareness of alcohol and drug dependency amongst those who are homeless

Homelessness is still a devastating issue in our society, and more resources are needed to end this epidemic.

Please donate as generously as you feel. It really goes a long way. And remember, never take your home for granted.

About the charity

The Connection at St Martin’s is here to be with people as they recover from life on the streets and move on to meaningful, fulfilling futures and a place to call home. We work with people, not for them, and put every individual person at the centre of their recovery.
