Crohn's and Colitis UK are the UK's leading charity in support of Crohn's and Colitis. Currently, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with one of these lifelong diseases which many people have never heard of. I am taking part in the 2025 Great North Run in order to support Crohn's and Colitis UK as your donations will help Crohn's and Colitis UK's mission to improve diagnosis, treatment, research and raise awareness.

Crohn's and Colitis UK are an important charity to myself as they hold a close place within my heart. In May 2023, my Mam, at the young age of 48, sadly passed away unexpectedly. At the age of 19, she was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, which led to her development of arthritis a short while later. After suffering significantly for many years, she was eventually able to seek treatment to ease the impact of the Crohn's disease. Ultimately, the research and treatment for this life altering condition allowed her quality of life to be significantly improved and allowed us to make so many happy memories together. It is charities like Crohn's and Colitis UK which aid these improvements for many patients. I would like to raise donations in order to help many others get the treatment and care which they deserve to live their life to the fullest.
